Yin Evening | Wed 15 May

R350.00 incl. VAT

Winter is the time of year when yin energy is dominant. It’s a time to shut down, go within, hibernate, reflect and recharge.

The evening makes use of a variety of aspects to activate your parasympathetic nervous system – the system responsible for “rest and digest” – that serves to de-stress, relax, and tune into your body’s natural rhythm again. With meditation, breathing, yin yoga and fine-tuning the art of comfort in stillness, we allow our systems to recalibrate and settle into a calmness we don’t often have the opportunity to achieve in our normal daily lives. It’s here that we can pause, reflect and digest.

Date: Wednesday 15 May 2024

Time: 6.15pm – 8.00pm (please arrive at least 5 minutes early to settle in)

Place: Bodhi Breathwork Studio, 25 Luisa Way, Hout Bay

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat
  • 2 x pillows for support to act as bolsters (firm bed pillows work here)
  • Blankie
  • Dress warmly and comfortably, in clothes that allow some comfortable movement
  • An eye pillow or eye mask if you have one (not essential, but nice to have)
  • Bring a journal or paper/notepad along if you want to jot down some thoughts and findings.

What is yin yoga?

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, introspective style of yoga that targets the deeper tissues in our bodies. Unlike its dynamic counterparts (like vinyasa), Yin Yoga encourages us to surrender, finding stillness in each pose for an extended period. It’s all about embracing the magic of holding, releasing, and melting into the present moment. It’s deeply relaxing and you’ll likely have an amazing night’s sleep after this!
